Bright blue skies, manicured fairways and greens with swooping and climbing dog-legs; shady glades, open fields, stone bridges, streams and lakes made the setting for this years annual Business Aviation Assn. Memorial Open. One hundred and eight (108) golfers all of varying skill took to the course at Pevely Farms Golf Club in teams of four, folowing "scramble" rules of play. Many had low combined team scores, a few won trophies for their game-skill. There were no losers, because everyone had a great time.
The sponsors also had a great day out. Some played golf and some resided at their sponsored hole to greet and visit with golf teams. The generous donation of beer, soda and water was complemented well by Chicken Spedini, Margaritas, Jello-shots all available on the course and served with a smile.
Even though Pevely Farms was a new venue for the BAAMO, like years past we had a sponsored professional photographer residing at the Club's signature hole, who took team pictures and had the glossy prints on hand ready for collection during the banquet. I'm certain that I am not the only person that looks back at previous BAAMOs of years past, thanks to the team pictures that I have accumulated at my office.
The traditional grilled lunch was delicious. The day drew to a close over cocktails, a raffle, collection of door-prizes and photographs, awards, etc. all ending with an exquisite beef brisket and pork carvery buffet...while Wayne and his Mid Life Crises band serenaded the evening breeze-cooled crowd.
