GSLBAA believes that bettering the future of the aviation industry begins at the local level, exactly what the organization was formed to do.  To meet this objective, the organization sponsors a scholarship fund to benefit local students attending Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC), Linn Technical School, or other aviation related schools. Awarding of the scholarship is based on merit and need.  To date, GSLBAA has awarded many scholarships to ensure the bright future of this industry that is so important to our state and local economies.

The scholarship committee, led by John Bales, will take nominations from Southwestern Illinois College, and other area colleges, as well as from GSLBAA members.  GSLBAA members in good standing can nominate one person for consideration.  These nominees can be relatives, employees, or acquaintances of the member.
